Egress privacy policy
Effective 4 November 2026
Egress collects nothing, runs no analytics or telemetry, and connects directly to your Mac without any Fledgeling server in between.
What the app collects
Nothing. The app contains no analytics, no crash-reporting or advertising SDKs, and no telemetry. It sends nothing to Fledgeling (fledgeling.app) or anyone else, whether you use a paired Mac or the built-in demo fleet.
Connection to your Mac
Your iPhone connects directly to the monitor Mac you paired it with, over the same Wi-Fi network or over Tailscale by your Mac's tailnet name. It never connects directly to workers, and there is no Fledgeling server between your iPhone and your Mac. Traffic is encrypted end to end with the Noise protocol, the same protocol Egress's machines use with each other.
Pairing key and Keychain
The pairing key is stored in the iPhone's Keychain on this device only and is not synced to iCloud. You can remove a paired phone from your monitor Mac at any time in Egress › Settings › Pairings.
Local network access
On Wi-Fi, the app uses iOS local network access to find Egress Macs on the same network so you can pair with one, and to talk to the Mac you paired over an encrypted Noise connection. It is not used for anything else.
